Aloha mai kakou. On August 20th, Network808 held a networking luncheon at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. 40+ Hawaii business professionals attended the event and 15 professionals were “newcomers” to our group.
There are two reasons to network: It’s fun and it’s important. It’s fun because people’s lives are interesting. It’s important because relationships drive business. It’s all about the connections. Successful people outperform other business professionals and also outconnect their peers. Once you are connected, most entrepreneurs are looking to help each other. They either make introductions and/or provide referrals. Here’s what the attendees said overall and what they found most valuable at the event:
Getting to meet new people, and the 60-second talk/share of introduction that helps me break out of my comfort zone a lot. I have gotten a referral from the first event at the Willows restaurant.– Carryssa Krzyska, Purium Health Products
Since I was new to the group it was very helpful to have 2 people to find and get to know upon arriving. Finding the suggested connections prompted me to mingle and meet others naturally rather than staying in one area of the room. Great ice breaker. – Rachel Whitehouse, Antsy Ant Web Design
It is helpful when the presentations are very specific about what type of referral they are looking for. Several people came to mind and I passed on 2 referrals right away at the event. – Fran Patoskie, Beachbody
It was great meeting you yesterday. The ability to educate others about hypnosis is always valuable. We haven’t had a chance to experience results from the event yesterday YET but we did make some connections that show promise. – Beverly Craddock and Randy Hampton, Hawaii Hypnosis Center
What I found to be the most valuable to me is the meeting the other attendees and to learn what they do for a living because there may be something that someone does that can benefit me. I have established some valuable contacts that, I hope, will be fruitful for my business. (as well as for the bus. of the others) – Gary Kunishima, Hokualii International LLC
Having the opportunity to have quality conversations with others seeking the same outcome as me. – Heather Madarang, State Farm Insurance
Thank you for having me at your event. You were both extraordinary hosts and your energy was wonderful!. – Susan Szabo, Genesis Pure
Mahalo to our event sponsors: Alana Miranda, Aqua Waikiki Wave Hotel; Terry Peacock, Mutual of Omaha; Arlani Villanueva, Younique’s 3D Fiber Lash Mascara; Primrose Salvador, Freedom Equity Group; and Lisa Deniz, Purium Health Products.
I value most on building relationships. When we mingle and network. I believe being able to build a relationship you’ll create trust. Because I love helping people out in any way that I can. – Arlani Villanueva, Younique’s 3D Fiber Lash Mascara
I value the networking experience available and find the sponsor table to be the most effective way to share my product and showcase my local corp rate with the attendees. I’m appreciative also with the innovative networking exercises with the Shaka cards and referrals, and the frequent card program! – Alana Miranda, Aqua Waikiki Wave
Thank you for putting on another over-all successful and well-attended event. – Terry Peacock, Mutual of Omaha Insurance
